Elder Peter Sara Kisira was born on October 08, 1950. He is a native of Ilesha Baruba Baruten LGA of Kwara state.

He attended the Baptist primary selder-peter-kishirachool Okuta, from 1958 till 1964, he then went to Baptist college Jos between the years of 1965 to 1969, changed his college to Titcome College, Egbe for HSC from 1970 to 1972 where he finished his secondary education. He preceded to the University of Ibadan, Bsc Mathematics (Education) between the years 1974 to 1977 for his tertiary education.

Elder peter has worked in different places starting with his NYSC career where he worked with the Government Secondary School, Bama, Borno State NYSC from 1977 to 1978. After his NYSC programme, he became the Education Officer Kwara State Ministry of Education between 1978 till 1984. He later became the Assistant Secretary (Overseas Scholarship) Kwara State Scholarship Board in 1984 to 1986. He was the Education Officer, Ministry of Education from 1986 all through till 1993. He then later converted into Administrative Cadre of Kwara State Civil Service in 1993. Ranging between the years 1993 to 1995, he became the Deputy Director (PFS) Ministry of Economic Planning and Development. After a few years, he moved on to the Deputy Director Economic Affairs (ECA) FROM 1998 to 1999. In this same year, he became the Director (PFS) Ministry of Education, Also in 1999, he was a Sole Administrator. In 2000, he became the Director (PFS) Ministry of information for three years then later in 2003, he proceeded to the Director (PFS) Ministry of Health for just a year. In the year 2004, he became the Director (PFS), Ministry of Sport and Youth Development up till 2007.



Elder Peter had a series of awards and honors and they are as follows;

In 2012, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy Public Administration (Honor’s Causa) Pacific Western University, State of Colorado, USA. Also in 2012, he was awarded a Political Icon Award for contribution towards Poverty Alleviation Projects and Youth Employment (People and Events Magazine, Ikeja, Lagos).

Still in 2012, he was honored by the African updates International Magazine the Man of the Year Award for Transparency and Accountability.

In 2014, he was awarded the Professional Fellow Award of the Civilian Institute (CIDA). In the same 2014, he was honored the United Nations Humanitarian Icon of the Year. Moving on to 2015, he was honored the Most Outstanding Deputy Governor of the Year Award in West Africa by the African Update International Magazine.


Previous Political Appointments

Elder Peter Sara Kisira (J.P) had previous political appointments;

He was the Permanent Secretary Department of Establishment Training and Pension Matters, Office of Head of Service between the years 2007 to 2009.

In 2010, he was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information. Ranging from 2010-2011, he was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affair.



He has been the Deputy Governor, Kwara State of Nigeria started from 2011 till date.
