Providing qualitative and improved standards of living for the people by embarking on various power and rural electrification projects is part of the State’s legitimate obligation.
The Light-Up Kwara Initiative (LUK)
Light Up Kwara is the State’s attempt to extend the provision of electricity to those in the rural and peri-urban communities which are currently underserved or not served at all from the National Grid, as well as to attain energy independence for critical social amenities.
LUK will also be powered by renewable energy as the Kwara State Government positions itself as a Green State, opening a wealth of opportunities for energy investors, providers and users alike.
Investment opportunities within the Energy Sector are:
Expansion solar-powered street lights to urban areas.
The development of a 200 MW IPP (Independent Power Plant) using renewable energy.
Development of renewable rural electrification
